V8's are the way forward

Hello,

I'm from the UK and as my user name suggests I own a 1998 340i, which I finished building about a year ago...

It has the 4.4ltr from a 1997 740i and the gearbox from a E34 530i V8....

Sounds cool, goes very well and has now covered 10000 miles since completed...

Hello,

I live in a little place just out side woodbridge in suffolk. Thanks for the compliment, I am very pleased with car, I have recently had it mapped and she makes 341bhp@6200rpm and 330lb/ft@4800....... Just have to decide whats next for her, I think she could handle around 400ish so could fit E39 M5 S62 engine or supercharge the one I have.......... Hmmm.

It has a really nice note, do you get much exhaust drone in the cabin?
What exhaust compnents did you use?

Hi,

No real drone at all, in fact between 80 and 100 mph on light throttle you can hardly hear her at all, but my mate reckons it sounds like a super car when I over take him....!!!!

It has 4-2-1 mild steel manifolds, in to twin 2.5" stainless exhaust with an X-pipe and finally into a scorpion M3 rear box..........
