transmission indicator on- red -325i 2006

Hey guys,

If anyone can help me to reset the transmission that would be great. I tried all things including dis-connecting the battery for two hours and then stepping on gas peddle after pushing start button for two times without igniting ! Nothing works , my mechanic says he cannot reset it . he needs to clear the codes that have come up after replacing the starter- probably due to some shorting of wires ! Really have no idea how to reset the transmission by clearing the codes ! Any help is appreciated very much ! The car is drivable but in limp mode !

Youll need an OBD-II scanner to reset the codes. Most auto parts stores will have one you can use in the parking lot. A mechanic should have an OBD scanner.
