Old Dog, new tricks

Ahoy the list!

I'm the new owner of a 1989 735i that I bought for my daughter's first car. It's quite a sweet ride, and is in need of a little tlc.

I'd appreciate anyone giving me a source of a manual that doesn't cost a C-note, but if I have to break down and spend the money, that's as it must be.

Right now, I'm dealing with a hard starting issue (cold). I've checked most of the usual suspects, and my next task will be to change the fuel filter. (just worked my way under her and found it in front of the tank) It's been suggested that I check out the timing trigger, but I haven't found that yet.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to werkz

I don't know much about the 7 Series, but your best place to find relevant info on that car will be the 7 Series section of our site: http://www.bimmerwerkz.com/forum/6-7-8-x-z-series/

I would recommend that you find a Bentley Service Manual for that car (I hope they make one), since they make the most comprehensive manuals for BMWs.

Best of luck with the BMW ownership and -- once again -- welcome.

Thanks, I have Chilton's for all my other vehicles, just having a hard time locating a manual for what I consider reasonable money.

I'm going to have to bite the bullet and just buy one of those high priced ones I can find.
