Bought a 91 735i off Craigslist for 500 with a blown head gasket, after tearing it down the head was toast, bought one off ebay and now I have a good running nice dream car of mine what I always wanted. I love it and it really isn't that hard to work on and Ebay sold everything I needed at a great price. I am trying to find a set of aftermarket 15in chrome wheels to set it off, since I just bought 4 new 15 tires. The tranny is giving me a little trouble now but I will hopefully get this fixed without a bunch of money spent. Ken

Welcome to the Werkz. Always good to have another 7er on board.

With regards to the Transmission, start with an oil & filter change. It sounds like you do this stuff yourself, so do your best to drain the torque converter as well as the pan. You should be able to get most of the oil out by disconnecting the return line from the oil cooler, connect some tube from that to a drain container, and then starting the car, let it idle until the oil stop pumping out of the tube. Reconnect the line and then drain the pan. Good luck and post some photos when you have a chance.

Bin the 15" idea and go for 17" or higher !!

Make sure you use the correct fluid and a genuine filter as well.
