Newb from BC

Hi. My name is Mark and I'm from Langley BC. A neighbor has offered me his 88 535i that hasn't been started for 7-8 years. I've given it a good pressure wash and it seems to be in pretty decent condition.
Of coarse it will need a new battery, rims and tires (it has the metric 200/60/390) as well as brakes? The "E" brake seems to be seized and the brakes seem pretty rusted so they'll need to be turned. It looks like a fun car as it has a sunroof and its a 5 speed with heated seats and a/c.

Apparently it ran pretty well but has been parked. It has a new gas tank and by the looks of it a new rad. It will need a oil change and a new air filter and belts
Anything i should be aware of diving into this? I can't even move it right now, the tires are flat and wont accept air. Any thoughts before I try and move it?

Help is for sure appreciated!

Wow, stood for that long !! Call 911 LOL

Hook her up to another vehicle and drag her for a short distance just to see if the wheels will rotate... Some issues may include - Seized calipers, rotten fluids (ALL), rusted or seized cables and maybe cracked/failed suspension bushes and dampers.
You should drop the sumps to clean them out as the oils will have crystallized (crusty)...
But I'm looking at the worst-case scenario !!

Welcome to the Werkz.

Like Dabsy said, change all the fluids & filters & belts. Maybe remove the plugs and spray some light oil into the cylinders to try and ensure that they are free to move again. Crank the egnine over by hand (if you can) with the plugs out and then reinstall them. Drain the fuel tank and injector rails. Check all the rubber fuel line sections, maybe get some seafoam into the system for the first half tank of fuel to clean all the pressure regs and injectors. Be gentle with it until you've got to know each other.
