New From San Diego

Hey Folks, Hello from San Diego, CA. New to the site about four months ago but finally looking around to find some valuable info and maybe make some new friends. I have a 2000 538i wagon with M Power and not too sure what the E desinations mean and which is for my car and not sure of the horsepower for this particular model since this information is not found in the owner's manual. I am also looking for a diagnostic tool for the car since the service engine light likes to come on periodically and I am looking for the stock air cleaner/cold air intake tube, mine was replace with a K&N style and it is not pulling air from the stock intake. Is this OK? Does this increase or decrease horsepower? If any one has any insight on this I would be very glad for you help.
