| | New Owner of an old 528i
I just purchased a 99 528i as a replacement for my 99 MB C280 that was rear-ended and totaled. With a few exceptions I am very happy with the car. My only gripes are the non-cupholders and the indication that Homelink was installed in the car but apparently is not there.
My last two BMW's were a 74 and a 76 2002. Both cars were a lot of fun but had to be sold for practical reasons.
If the Homelink system was in the car where would it be and can it be added after the fact without butchering anything in the cabin. My first thought would be to find a way to install it where the non-cupholders are and create a cosmetic panel to cover the rest of the void. That would solve both of my problems at the same time.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
