Hi All,
I have a 2000 E39. Great car. I do have a problem tho'. The abs, asc and brake yellow warning lights come on after I drive for about a half hour. It does go off if I switch off the car and start it again but reappears in awhile. Hasn't affected it in any other way. I've taken it to my Mechanic and his code reader shows no issues. Help!

Are all four wheels the same rolling diameter?

What tyres are on the wheels? Are they all the same, and at the same pressure?

Most common issue with these systems of age is that the fins on the inner side of the rotors may be fouled-up a little, get in there and brush the crap out - give the sensors a wipe while you there !!

255/40/17 at the rear and 235/45/17 in front. Wheel sensors and rotors have been cleaned. No luck yet. The Mech says it may be the ABS control unit. Getting worried now.

There is a 1.3% difference in the rolling diameter of these wheels, but that shouldn't be enough to upset the ABS sensors.

What happens if you turn the DSC off when you start driving the car, then after the time that the system would normally throw the warning light, turn the DSC back on?
