Hi Guys,

Just this week I purchased an old E39 BMW 528i automatic, its a used import from Japan with 97,000kms on the clock (Thats 60,000miles approx).
I have previously had 2x E30's and 1x E36.

I would have liked a 540i, however these are $15000 + for a decent one in New Zealand, I got this car for $4000

I got the car for a good price and it has some issues to resolve, however I have searched around this forum and already found many solutions, such has the Heater Resistor problem, electric controls on seat not working (Plug had fallen out).
I need to sort out Pixel problems also on the Instrument Cluster.

One thing that will be a big challenge for me is an audio install, my car has the 4:3 Screen in the front, with built in cassette deck, however all this is a control unit for the Radio and TV Modules in the boot of the car (behind rear seats on this Japanese assembled model).
The Japanese radio is useless and only allows me to pick up 1 radio station (That I don't like) and the CD Stacker is absent.

Hi Charles, welcome to Bimmerwerks...
You can get a Frequency Expander from ebay at little cost !
BTW very nice motor, mate ;-)

Welcome to the Werkz.

I am pretty sure that the 16:9 screens from the X5 & 7ers series of a similar age will fit that model without modification. The other option is have a look at some of the aftermarket replacements available.
