Hello folks,
I am relatively new to the BMW world. I have owned a 1999 e36 323ic for about a year now. I have always done most of the repair and maintenance on all of my previous vehicles and will continue with this one. I have fully researched this model and know its faults and maintenance issues. I joined this forum to get and give help with making this vehicle last as long as possible. It's paid for, and currently runs good. My vehicle is completely stock with no upgrades whatsoever. It has 90k on it. The most pressing maintenance issue i have to tackle is changing the secondary air pump. It sounds like a vacuum when i have a cold start. It hasn't thrown a CEL yet. I have to wait for the funds to fix it. I also would like to change the water pump,thermostat/housing,oil separator, front brakes and shocks/struts/mounts. I have alot of work ahead and hope I can count on the experienced forum members to give advice along the way. I look forward to talking to everyone I can here.
