PS - If your stock seats are leather and are mint, why would you swap them for Sparco's etc? The weight issue isn't enough and BMW made this car with nice seats. My own race shop commented long ago on my inquiry on this same issue. He has an older Porche where he swapped te seats for Sparcos, but the stock seats were already fried is why.
Where are you from sir? Always glad to have another Z3 in teh Werkz.

It seems as though it will be awesome when done, but seeing those pics is like seeing your BABY - SKINNED! Very disturbing - tough to look at indeed. I think I like the vents in the hood. Which engine is in it, what kind of shape and how many miles? Great project - good for you!

i buy tons of vehicles and customize them , play with them ( drive em ) and then sell them when i,m bored , ive been doing this since i was 14 , at 13 i was pin striping my dads lawnmower ( no kidding ) then i built a snowmobile ( custom paint of course ) and now i,m in my fricken 40s still doin the same thing ....you'd think i would learn , i,m also rebuilding a harley fatboy at the same time as the z3 , the car is an 01 with 79k on the clock its a 2.5i and it was scratched by nicking a fence and all that it needs is paint , but i cant just do that , its not in me . i have to take the hard road ....lol my plan is to auto-x it a little this summer and sorry to say it goes up for sale , i,m pretty sure i have a deal to get a m3 with in this week ( its a trade for a jeep i have ) and then when the z3 sells and i have room in the garage i want to get another lotus .
oh sorry , i,m in denver colorado now and i spend winters in las vegas nv !!
on the seat swap , i just think my stock seats are kind of boring , if you guys think i shouldnt do it , i,ll reconsider , but i dont have the cool m seats , just plain tan ones , since i want to do a little auto - x i thought seats would be a cool upgrade ???
I'd like to do seats myself, those sound like better reasons.
Go for it.
I want a lotus too
