The "Executive" package is unique to AUS and EUR so i cant comment on that. I thought the E90 didnt come out until 2006, but an early 2005 is possible. But with that, the first ones usually had more issues then later models. Being a brand new model for that year, it may have a few issues that were later resolved.
My personal recomendation: Get a 2003-2005 E46. Either 325 or 330. The 320 is very underpowered, and their is not much upgrade potential. If you even remotley think you may want to upgrade the car then get a 325 or 330. The one thing about the E90's is that aftermarket parts are still fairly expensive. Their are tons of aftermarket companies that provide support for the E46 for reasonable prices and parts are easy to get.
