Hi fellow bimmer owners.

I am 2 weeks into my 2007 BMW 750I and loving it so far. I am gradually moving up the learning curve in understanding just how sophisticated this car is. I have 36K on it and it seems immaculate. I had to install 2 new tires on the front, though the original Michelin spare is unused. I have found 3 defects however, the steering column will not move up/down. In/out is fine. The squaab on the drivers seat also does not move although I can hear the motor run. Finally I have a cracked headlight glass on drivers side and have already discovered this is an expensive item so I will probably try and seal it for now.

All said and done however its a great auto and all I really need to fix is the steering wheel fault as I would like the wheel to be lower. In another forum I did see that there might be a retaining ring that is binding although fixing it seems difficult as I have knee air bags in the area. Any feedback would be welcome.

Seat malfunction... Cable/rod displaced...
36k and only 2 front tyres!
Steering adjust... Rip that facia off and get your hands in to check the wiring as they can break under continuous adjustments...
As for the lamp cover... I'm sure ebay or salvage yard would sort that one out for you...

I took my car back to the dealer re. the cracked lens glass, he repaired using a stick on lens cover. It actually seems to do the job and should prevent water infiltrating the light fixture. There is a slight clouding visible but hopefully this will clear soon. I am quite pleased with the fix understanding a replacement headlamp is over $1k.
