New Member - 1998 Z3 Dinan

Just signed up today. I am the proud owner of a '98 Z3 2.8L with the Dinan package and only 77,000km on it. Mint condition, fully loaded, and Foose rims.

Today is a very sad day for me though.

Yesterday afternoon my car was parked on the road in front of my house...i never do this, but we were moving some furniture in...
and an impared driver crushed my beautiful baby z3.
I'm sure it will be written off by the insurance company and i'm scared that i won't get the full value of my car and be able to find one to replace it.

I figure it should be worth between $17-20k, but i will have to present my case i'm sure.

What does everyone think it should be appraised at?

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I don't have any idea about what your car would be worth, is there a value nominated on your policy?
Down here a standard one is listed as $13000 - $16000, but clearly yours wasn't standard.

What your Insurance company will do is lowball you. Ne'er take the first offers. Go get all your receipts in order and anything to spent on the car. Then start scouring local adds for other similar vehicles. You need to prover that your car was worth X dollars and that you need X dollars to be an identicale car. They rarely go by KBB. Try and take the rims off and grow on the stock rims. Not all companies will want to pay you for them, and at best you will get what you paid minus 20% depreciation. Take off whatever you can before the adjuster comes because they probably wot how you anything fair for it.
