| New Member: 1997 E39 528i @ 268k miles!
I finally registered and having done so I want to thank all the members that have contributed to Bimmerwerkz.com. I should also thank Bimmerwerkz for the creation of the forum as well. Since visiting this site, I have replaced my thermostat, thermostat housing, valve cover gasket, transmission oil and filter and gasket and saved bookoo bucks! When my car was just over 100k miles, when my water pump gave out (while driving on the freeway), I had that repaired and the timing chain replaced with new belts and prior to all that, I had all of my brakes replaced. I asked my mechanic if should consider selling her...was it time to go? He said..."Hell no! I just had a lot of major repairs done. If I buy a new or used car...I'll just go thru the same motion again!" He said, "Take her for another 100k miles!" And here I am on Bimmererkz. I should mention that, that same mechanic (his shop) forgot to put my engine fan on. I had been driving it all summer with no fan! That's another reason why I'm here on Bimmerwerkz. I now shop at Bavauto.com.
