I have a 2003 740i with 45K miles. There is a slight crackeling noise throught the speakers almost like a short. It's not loud but its driving me nuts! Has anyone had a similar problem?
My speaker has that. I've gotten used to it. The only thing you can do is replace the speaker. Dabsy is the 7 Series Guru so I'll let him chime in on the specifics of replacing it.
Is the noise present regardless of the source that you select (AM/FM, CD, Tape, Navigation).
Does the volume of the noise vary with the volume of the selected source?
Do you any charges (iPod, Phone etc) plugged into the cigarette lighter?
Any after market electronics added to the car?
The noise is present in am,fm,cd, and even the voice activated comand. I have changed the fade and the balance and it does not make the noise go away so at this point I'm fairly sure it is not a speaker issue. No after market electronics and nothing plugged into cigarette lighter. Thanks for your help!
