Hello, just joined forum. Just got my hands on a 1998 4dr m3(red). For the last couple days i had alot of questions concerning my new car. Dont know much about these cars but always been a big fan of bmw. To make story short, every question i googled led to u guys with the right answer so why not join. One of the main question i had was on whether i had a real m3 or a fake, but again u guys gave me the answer i was hoping for. Looking forward to meeting alot of bmw m3 fans. Thanks in advance
Hey ivan413, yeah i just bought of an old italian man that claimed that car was brought from italy. Dont know if he was telling truth or not even though when i went to fit plate to take car home, plate did not fit. Holes where to far apart. But anyways car is healthy and not bad looking for a 1998. Is automatic. The owner had it parked for over a year in his garage since he upgraded to a newer m3. I was able to bring him down to 2200. The car does need a very good interior cleaning and has a small hole on driver seat. Head linner is loose, missing 1 fog lamp and 1 corner(he said corner fell off and foglamp was cracked therefor he removed it n never replaced it). Ill post some pictures asap. Tryied eearlier from my phone but was not successfull.
Wow imported from italy lol maybe and wow 2200 that's a steal! I'm looking for one of these but in manual 96 and up but there all priced at like 10-13 grand due to being heavily modded really nice find though man looking forward for pics and what u have in store for the car
Finding a 4 door M3 is hard so good job. Especially one in great shape. That engine is an S52 engine, which means it is a North American model, and not a Euro one. He did not import it from Italy. If it was a genuine Eurospec M3 Sedan I gaurentee you wouldnt have gotten it for less then $10,000. However, where is your drivers turn signal? You seem to have lost it.
The way u see in the pics thats how i got it. Lord vader how do u know is a s52 engine? The car needs a couple things to b top notch but no biggie. I noticed is leaking from valve cover. Just dropped oil n filter. I was looking at valve cover n damm rheres alot going on there, dont even know where to start lol. Is there anything i should know before i tackle that valve cover? I will order new corners n foglights this week. Should i get same clear corners and foglights or should i get amber ones. Owner did give me a new set of fender amber turns and also gave me a code reader that plugs somewhere in engine bay but not sure. Any info on that?. Btwam glad u guys like the bimmer, cause i love it. This car is strong as hell
