New to the E39 scene... and new to Houston

Hi my name is Dara... I just moved to Houston... I recently got medically discharged out of the USAF so now starting a new life in Texas... New to the site and new to BMW's... I just bought a 98 528i White with Gray interior ... Body looks really good and Interior is really nice still... Engine and Tranny seems to be running fine but it does have a problem that i cant seem to figure out with the Doors and rear windows for some reason... i thought it was going to be an easy fix cause on hondas it was sooo easy... well to describe the problems ...
*ALL doors are locked but not the driver side door... the 2 front windows work fine but the rear windows are inoperable... I tried using the key remote to lock and unlock with no luck... and i also tried locking it manually... and still no luck...
I thought it was the door lock actuator so i bought a new one and tried it but still nothing... I just cant seem to figure out the reason as to what is the reason... Please if anyone can help me out ... PLEASE let me know... I Love the Car but I just hate the fact that i cant lock/unlock it ... ....

welcome to the werkz, well I can't claim to have the answers you need but first of all is the key remote lock working, try replaceing the battery it might be weak,it is a 98 who knows the last time someone changed it out . next I had a similar problem after my daughter used my car ,seemed the drivers side lock would not work although all the others did. what I did was cycle the locks on and off with the center consol switch and it started working. I'm not saying this will fix yours , but who knows.Up untill then I had never had one problem with the lock function. I would look in the diys for the window malfunction. Good luck.......

Fuses, fuses, fuses! Check them, relays, could be a faulty switch also.
