Hello to all! I might be picking up a 92 325 convertible this week. It belongs to a guy in my neighborhood who bought it for his wife and she didn't like it. It runs, drives and shifts great, has new tires, and looks pretty good (white with dark blue top) 121k miles. Now for the bad.....it has the electric top but the motor does not run and some bracket that I "assume" pushes the bonnet/top cover up appears to be broken on the end where it has a threaded part. It also has a bit of rust on the rocker panels and on the back lower fascia. The car is obviously from up north. It appears to have some oil leaks (what I expect on a 16 year old car). And I'm sure it has a bit of other issues I'll have to deal with, but fixing stuff like that is fun to me as long as it doesn't break my bank account. My only other BMW experience was a 1990 735i that I loved but ended up getting rid of because of the insane cost of some parts (driveshaft, modules, suspension components etc) I always work on my own cars and even the735 was easy to work on, just expensive. Am I wrong to assume that the 325 will be much cheaper to maintain as far as parts cost and reliability? By the way, I'm getting the car for what I consider to be a very good price. Is there any major issues I should consider before getting the car? Thanks in advance for any advice
