 Maintainance Advice Needed
I joined BW in order to get some help from those of you in the know. I have a 2007 525i with 35,000 miles. I've kept it meticlously maintained (so I thought) at the local dealership..Lauderdale BMW. I had it there in Feb '10 with 26,000 miles, July '10 with 29,800 miles, and Jan '11 with 33,990 miles. I always took it in when I-Drive told me to for "service". It's at the dealership over the weekend because my battery died Friday afternoon at 5 pm so they gave a loaner to check the car out and finalize their diagnosis. I got a call yesterday afternoon informing me that indeed it was the battery but that they discovered my oil had not been changed for over a year! I was shocked and felt totally deceived. I assumed all the times my car was in for "service" it was having the oil changed in addition to what ever else. Should I allow them to charge me (out of warranty now about 3 weeks) for an oil change when the car was in there for service twice since last Feb? Or am I just a naive newcomer who needs to learn a few lessons? |
