 looking for e46 help
I have a 4-2000 323i hatchback/wagon? with the 2.5l engine. it set dtcs for misfire on cyls 4-5-6. It wont run hardly at all, it struggles to rev and backfires through the throttle body, I have replaced the cam sensor as I had a code for that also. The plugs are new and the coils seem to check ok. No other codes are present and it does run better but not well. The front exhaust bank will get very hot and read off the scale on my non-contact thermometer, while the back is not very hot at all. there is also a strong smell of sulphor at the tailpipe. Compression checks ok on all cyls , fuel pressure ok. Previous owner stumped and sold it to me, now I am puzzled, please help. thank you, jody |
