Hi guys

I'm Rob and I love E36s! Had a 316i Compact first but just recently bought a 318is coupe, in black, black leather, for £850! It is old, and there are a few things I need to sort out (thats why i've joined this here forum), but overall runs and looks sweet!

My first concern is the acceleration of the car. Every so often (happening more regularly now), usually when i'm in 2nd or 3rd, when i'm gradually accelerating, there seems to be abit of lag, in the low revs, as though the car's holding back, I only really know abit about engines etc, but i'm thinking it could be something todo with the fuel line? That's what it feel like, as though the fuel's having difficulty getting to the engine?

Has anyone else had this problem? Am I right with my suggestion? How do I go about fixing it?

Have you checked the fuel pressure? If it is old and it has rubber lines, it might have detiorated the inside of the lines enough to collapse them under a pull from the tank.

Welcome along, sounds like a fuel problem, if you have a filter probably worth a change and possibly an air filter to.

Thanks for your suggestions, i'll have a look into the fuel pump and filter this weekend no doubt, will let you know how it goes
