hi there

hey guys. purchased my first beamer, an 08 328i sedan and love it. Regret not getting the 335 and was wondering if there was any boltons that may help up the power.

Got a question on performance tuners, I have been searching for awhile, are the only tuners that have a preset and thats it, for example my brother has a mustang he bought a preditor programmer and it will allow him to change and reprogram everything from the octane of gas to turning off the emissions control stuff.

Ive had 3 mustangs one mustang track car still in possetion. I actually tune for B&D racing, a mustang shop in the san fernando valley here in the Los Angeles area. I am very familiar with SCT and Diablosport tuners, got a couple hundred cars tuned under my belt. I would be nice to have some sort of hand held flash device with a decent base tune with some adjustability and the ability to upload the stock tune for service and when you return a leased car. I have also tuned a few Mitsu Evos using an open source software called ecuflash. Great product and its free.

I have a feeling that this would be no easy task for a bmw because so much of the car is tied into the computer including the simplist things like blinker light behavior and door locks. Still, I think bigger companies like Dinan should work with some of the bigger ecu tuning software companies like hypertech for example and look into a branded hand held tuner for us.

Another big issue is BMW does not share its ecu source code like ford for example that sells it to these bigger companies. Someone will have to basically reverse engineer the ecu which is what the subaru community did. Also bmw computer compared to a ford is like comparing a commodore 64 to a modern PC.

still we can dream.
