| Hi from Ohio, Need Transmission help already!

I bought my first BMW yesterday. 1998 BMW 323is. The drive home was like the magic I always imagined it would be since I first wanted a BMW in 1984 as a H.S. kid, barely able to afford to put gas in my dad's Pinto. Car has 119K miles on it, black, 5-speed. Drove fine this morning, then this afternoon, couldn't get it to go into reverse, which is a little tricky anyway, but then couldn't get it into 2nd gear, 4th gear or 5th gear.
I thought I did research on it pretty well. Previous owner replaced EVERYTHING but transmission on it, including the infamous shifter bushing. I did more research today and I am wondering if GM made the manual transmissions for 90's 3 series as well as the autos. I saw all the info out there on a class action on BMW for the transmissions but didn't specify if manuals or automatics.
