I have a lovely 2000 e38 in cosmos black 728i and have come across a serious problem.
My drivers door is not opening. I have seen and read a little on how others have got around this by way of breaking the door panel on the inside to gain access to the inside area. Can anyone help as i still cannnot work out what to do?
I have even looked at my passenger door in order to see if i can work out whats wrong.
Hi, Is the lock/unlock button operating or not on the top of the door?, if not try the key in the lock rather than using the remote.
Hi there, thanks for reply. The locks do pop up on all the doors with the remote and with the key, then the passenger and rear doors do open with outside handles and inside, its just the driver door that does not open using the outside or inside handle!
your trip rod may be bent, i don't kbnow if they have them in your car or if they have another style of latch trips, but the only way to fix that is to tear the panel off and install a new rod. UNfortunately this may be a "dealership/mechanic you trust" kind of situation.

Number 2 or no.11 will be your problem, In my opinion its no.2 as this is electronic and as your button is not working,this is what I would go for they are known to go, you will need to get the panel off im afraid.

Yes my fob works fine, it is just the driver handle inside and out, and my thoughts are exactly as you guys have said. i hate to do it but i think i will have to break the panel apart. which i allready started to do at the wooden strip area before i came over here.
Does any of you guys know of anyone or can you reccomend a site for me to obtain a new cream leather panel?
