Hi from 320i E36 Touring 1996 Non Starter

Hi and a question of Non Starting ,The car , a 320i E36 Touring 1996 has been great right up until MOT ing our other car, then decides to be a non starter ! I checked the fuses , found and replaced one blown fuse. Still no go, the ignition inspection light stays on with oil light, oil level looks ok. Car cranks over fast, seems faster than normal but no sign of any ignition .

Have you checked if you have a spark at all? If you have that then maybe a fuel pump issue.

There will be other more knowledgable folks along soon enough, but thats where I'd start.

Hi brettski , thanks ,not checked yet as its too easy to mess up the ECU etc ,looking for a safe way to check that,got an analogue diagnostic multimeter .So hope can do tomorrow. Its got plenty of fuel

It turns over fast with good battery power , but not starting to fire up.

Now ive seen that the crank sensor is at the front above a toothed wheel ,but its had water leaking onto it.

Also some other sensor from the nearside hanging down into the back of fog light area, its got a yellow connector and a spike about 2 inches long
