New to the site and first time forum user. I cant get my message posted where I want so hoping to get lucky here... Im getting my old e30 m3 back on the road and eventually back to tip-top shape. Currently runs like a mule and mechanic says I need an ecu, however these pieces of love cost 1200 new and 600+ used. For those of you that have been involved in a project like this, do you pay the 600+ or hunt for something in the 300-400 range. (I hope there is a hunt involved or else this project may get a touch expensive) If there is, where is a good place to start looking?

If I were you I would contact a reputable salvage yard. They will get the part you need and if they don't have it they will find you one. An ECU isn't something you want to cut corners with...here is one is my area

called your place, didnt have...however the best way to look for salvage yard parts is through Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market he said (found one listed however its been sold)
