Help (Transmission)

Good day all!

Having a bugger of a time pulling left front axle out of my 2002 325XI.

CV joint went; Got beautiful parts from FCP (Quick and cheap). Got everything out but the axle out of the transmission (The rest of axle came out fine) Just the last part in the trans.

Have tried everything; Pickle bar, heavy sledge and drift, the only thing not done is heat. Not sure I want to do that on the trans.

Prolly been covered already, but if anyone can point me to threads, hints, etc. Sitting in my warm shop at the moment, thinking what next to do. (-38C outside, shop warm though)

Cheers!

Probably obvious, all the bolts out? Did you soak it with penetrating fluid? Heat is fine, as long as your not using a flamethrower. I have a small propane torch for that purpse. Check for galding that has sealed the two together.
