Anyway, about myself:
I like cars, BMW, Mercedes, Subaru Impreza, Golf GTI/V5, Chrysler 300C, Rolls Royce, Porsche, Honda S2000 and more...
I'm a car spotter! right now I have about 120 pictures of rare/exotic/tuned cars mostly from my city of Tel Aviv.
Just one question, is there any place where I can use your help in identifying BMW's? I spotted some BMW's which I don't know what is the exact model and it's really important to me.
OK, few questions:
What is the model on the last car? I wrote E90 because it looks like it from the internet but what exact model is that?
Number 7, 3 series sport car, what model?
Number 6, exact model?
Number 9 and number 13 are both 320i and they look different, what's the different between them?
Someone told me that 318, 320, 325, 328, 330, 335 and maybe some more numbers are actually the same model just a bit different engine, then how do I specify the difference between them? I mean, there are at least 3-4 cars that look the same.
Does anyone get me?
BMW makes different variants of their vehicles using the same chassis. Therefore, it becomes hard to be able to tell them apart any further than chassis code. Some vehicles have very distinctive aero kits that make things easier, but in general, you need to look at the badge on the trunk lid or side of the car, know what engine is under the hood, or something to that extent.
Just like with any other car make, BMW uses teh same names for the new generations of cars. Just like there is such thing as a year 2000 Subaru impreza and a 2008 Subaru Impreza, there also is the case of a 1996 328i and a 2009 328i.
To answer your questions,
Number 7: E46 chassis 3 series coupe, pre-2004. Most likely it is a 4-cylinder model, given the single-pipe exhaust, so probably a 318Ci. However, it could also be a 320Ci, 323Ci, 325Ci, 328Ci, or 330Ci (depending on which models were actually available in Israel or if teh car was later imported).
Number 6: E36 chassis 3 series convertible, 1997, 1998, or 1999. It could be 318i, 320i, or 328i.
Number 9 is an E90 chassis 320i, so it could be from any year 2006 or newer. Number 13 is an E36 chassis 320i, 1993 - 1996.

Thanks man, you really helped me.
As in Number 7, it could be 320, 323, 325... so I'll just choose the nicest number cause I don't have any idea which the exact model and I don't know if I'll see that car again (the same goes for the other ones).
Can you complete the list of models? with the E thing (E90, E36...) and if you can, the year, you just did numbers 6,7,9.
Thanks dude!
Hi there and Welcome to Teh Werkz! I have many friends in Jerusalem.
Anyway, on to business, I note that #10 is an E92 Coupe, in the States a
328i (or 328xi) although from that angle it could be a 335i or 335xi all depending upon whether it has the N52 or N54 engine in it. #3 looks big to be a 3 series and def is not an E46 chassis.
Hope this quickie bit of info helps. Enjoy and good luck in starting your own fleet of Bimmers!
