I bought my first used 2004 BMW 325 XI Last August, up until about a month or two ago it was the best driving , best everything car I've ever owned!
Then came the shaking, starting under the passenger seat, soon to radiate through the rest of the car, took it to trusted mechnic, he said they found a rubber boot around transmission was worn and replaced it, no more shaking for two days, now its back. When in reverse and drive the whole car shakes and rumbles, uphill is awful, like its going to break apart. any help would be appreciated....LOVE this car, want it back the way it was when i first fell in love:-)

Was the transmission ever serviced? How many kms? Could possibly be a worn out engine or tranny mount. Do the X drive use a transfer case? Not to familiar with the X drive system. But it might be an issue their

The broken mount is probably symptomatic of another issue. Take you car to a dedicated transmission shop and get them to look over it. Probably wouldn't hurt to have the oil and filter changed while its there.
