BimmerE39 will become famous soon enough

Hello from Connecticut

Just joined the forum and wanted to introduce myself. I am a full time student and proud owner of a 2000 528i. I've spent quite a bit of money modding my car over the past few years and I have some cool plans for the spring. I'll post pics as things get done.

Guess I joined at the right time. I'm kind of a fanatic with the E39 but I feel it's going to be that way with any car I own. Thanks for the welcome!

johnny,
Thanks for the welcome both here and at Car Domain. Just out of curiosity did you buy alot of your upgrades from TMS in Massachusetts? Also, what kind of E39 are you looking into getting?

You are welcome, & I've purchased a couple of things from TMS.....but mostly shopped around.....Bavarian Autosport, DDM Tuning, Eurosport Design,
Autowerks, & Tire Rack....to name a few. I am looking for a 97' to 99' 528i.

johnny,

johnny,
I recommend getting a '99 just to have the M52TU. Better power and torque over the M52. I was wondering about TMS because your suspension mods sound like they were purchased from them.

Mine is a 2000 but the '99 is the same car. I have just over 78K miles on my car. I haven't had problems with my ABS pump but I have noticed that ABS get's triggered easily on bumpy roads when I brake. I've replaced most of the failure prone parts on the car including a thermostat, water pump, radiator, sway bar linkages, and recently a CV joint. Overall, I haven't had any serious problems and most of the work I have done was just preventative.
