Hello! Can Anyone Help W/resetting Inspection Light!
Hello Everyone,
I Am A First Time Buyer Of A 2004, Bmw, X5 And I Just Had My Oil Changed. I Have Been Trying To Figure Out How To Reset My Inspection Light. That Is What Brought Me To This Site. I Have Found A Bunch Of Ideas; However, None Of Them Are For My Vehicle. If Anyone Out There Knows The Trick, Can You Please Help Me Out.
key must be in OFF "0" position
-Press and hold trip odometer button, and switch to "ON" or "I" position
-continue to hold for 5 secs. or until the words "oil Service" or 'Inspection" appear wit "Reset" or "Re"
-Release button and press again for 5 seconds or more until the words "reset" or "re" flash
-while display is flashing, press again briefly to reset the Service interval. After display has shown the new service interval, the following will display for 2 secs... "END SIA"
YOU'RE DONE!!!
dealer charges $250.- do do this service. I give the infor for FREE!!! :-D
I did that exact series of step and I was unable to get the "reset" to blink till I tapped on my brake peddle a couple of times, after hold the odometer button down. But, I was able to get it to work.
Thanks for saving $$$$
