Hi there im a first time BMW owner and have recently bought a 525i SE Auto 1991, its a great car, but it has developt a problem with the diff and now wont drive, im trying to find another diff that will fit and im wondering if other auto/manual diffs will fit or do i have to put the exact diff back in.

the ratios shouldnt matter much except it will change the RPM's on the highway...you will probably going to want to stick pretty close to the stock diff ratio...which should be tagged somewhere on your differential
