Hello

I didn't intend to acquire my car, it just happened.. now I have to know all about it and I am starting at a very low knowledge level.. I like to learn and I hope I can contribute in the future

Welcome to the Werkz.

Good to have another 7er owner on board. What year is your car, and how much ground has it covered?

it is a 1997, Aspen Silver, 100,000 mile, one owner, dealership maintained, with very few issues..
I have the pixel burnout in the info display so it can't be read and one of the valve covers in seeping a little oil,not even enough to get to the ground.

it drives perfect. no clunks or growls and the trans is smooth as silk.. the 12 speaker stero system is pretty damn good for as old as it is..

the phone in the armrest is just classic

I love ie so far!!!

Sounds good. Things to keep an eye on are;
the oil leaks on the valve covers, oil can end up pooling around the spark plugs,
the rear manifold vent assembly which can fail and draw excessive oil into the intake manifold,
cooling system leaks around the plastic end tanks on the radiator and expansion tank splitting,
water pump bearing failing causing the radiator fan start to wobble and eventually fail with fan blades flying in all directions damaging anything they hit,
get the transmission oil checked out and changed if necessary with the proper oil and genuine filter,
check the diff oil as well, its probably due for a change with that mileage,
the MAF may eventually cause issues, but nothing too nasty, just reduced performance, an easy item to replace.

Enjoy your new ride, I hope that it serves you well.
