Greetings All!

n00b to the BMW world here in the heart of Iowa. Just purchased a 2000 BMW Z3 with the 2.3 engine and 82K miles for my wife and I as a 25th anniversary present. Was looking for a Miata

(due to our budget and the fact we don't find Z3's available all that often here in corn country) when this little beauty popped up on CL.

Love everything about it, except for the fun little intermittent Transmission Warning Light. Researching this issue bought me to this site. Hope you all can guide me through the little ups and downs of BMW ownership. Look forward to driving this little toy for many years to come.

Welcome! I'm in North Liberty Iowa. If you get in over your head, let me recommend Jim Simpson of Simpson Motorsports. He is as good as there is for BMWs.

Previous owner always used Zimmerman in Cedar Rapids. Where is Simpson?

Simpson is located near I-80 and Herbert Hoover Highway. Jim used to be the service manager for Zimmerman. His shop is located on Perch Drive which is just west (behind Wildwood) on Herbert Hoover.
