dan1026 is on a distinguished road

Hi all, new to the forum and BMWs. I'm Dan, I live in Marlyand and just got a 2000 328Ci and wanted to say hello. It's been glorious so far. I bought it as a consignment from a dealer and got a great deal, but it does have a few kinks to be worked out and I would appreciate any advise from you veterans.

Mainly, the driver's side seat has problems moving forward and back at times. The dealer said this was a common problem with bimmers and fixed it by gently hitting one of the back cylinders under the seat with a screwdriver. This temporarily fixed it but it goes in and out and I'd like to fix it permanently if it's not too expensive or complicated. Also (not as important) the lumbar option on the passenger seat does not work but everything else does.

Thanks and I look forward to chatting with you all.
