gear 5 incorrect ration

I have a 99 323i and it has just started throwing this code p0735 which is gear 5 incorrect ratio and the symptoms are when traveling down the interstate when the trans light comes on the rpm's jump about 1000 rpm's, and that's it no other problems till i get off and come to a stop and it is like the car didn't down shift into first so i pull over turn the car off for 30 sec. and all is fixed (till the next time) its not that often but often enough for me to be scared to drive it. also when i get5 up in the morning and only the first time i drive it everyday whether it is morning or afternoon or whenever the first time everyday it takes a sec to get up and go its like im holding the clutch in and have never driven a five speed before even though it is an automatic its like it revs up and barely goes but its done doing that after that first time (after i get out of the driveway) it is all better and doesnt do it again. i can get on it on the take off ever because it feels like it has a vibration or something like that but thats just on take off not on the interstate if im going good and floor it it will get up and go like its brand new. anyway thats all the symptoms i can think of for now and if anyone can shed some light on this besides a new transmission please let me know, thank you.
