Thanks for the welcome. My first post in a forum like this. I have just acquired a 1994 750il E32. I worked at South African Airways as an aircraft mechanic in the 60's. Since 1974 I have been in business repairing cars, trucks, forklifts, tractors, mining equipment and small engines. For the last six years I have run a fleet of 8 - 10 ton trucks and superlinks delivering bulk timber. The fuel price terminated that business. This BMW is first computer controlled vehicle I have attempted to repair. That has brought me to this forum. Computer codes etc. are alien to me and I need to do some catching up. Please excuse my long story.
Thanks. Just finished doing the microfilter. Had to remove the lower part of the steering shaft. Agents didn't have stock, so I washed it in soapy water and blew it out with compressed air and seems to be ok.

Thanks AlpineSixAndSeven. The car is great. It had problems, thats why it was sold. It would run intermittently on 6 or 12 cyls. Turned out to be a loose pin and socket in the harness plug next to the battery that supplies the one of the fuel pumps in the tank. The dip lights would also work intermittently and this was a dry joint on the no.3 pin of the crash control relay. Not easy faults to locate. The aircon does not blow cold enough so I want to change the filter dryer and check if the expansion valve filter is blocked. I have a recovery unit , gauges and a vacuum pump so I'll do that this coming week, if I get time.
darkhorse737, my younger brother was the flier, had an Enstrom for a while. his first plane was a AFIC RSA 200 Falcon. Frightened me to death with it. I worked on Connie, Skymaster, Dakota, DC4, DC7B, Viscount, 707, 727, 737, 747.
My 750il e32 89 model diff. packed up. The pinion shaft is bent, otherwise I could have fixed it. The friction plates were finished also. I can get another diff for R1500, which is not bad. It's a S3.15 limited slip.
Thanks dutchbmw, I am sure I will enjoy. You have other wheels? I live on the outskirts of Pretoria and transport is essential.
