cheking in - with a problem on an Evo

hi everyone, just wanted to say hi from northern england and i also have a small or maybe large problem .hopefully you can tell me.
i have 2 cars at present a e36 316 and an e36 m3 evo
i drive the evo around at weekends and the last time i drove it today it came up with a exclamation triangle on the display with the number 2. this only occured when changing gear and it seems as if the clutch is disconnecting itself and having trouble reconnecting as it keeps revving without the clutch seeming to be engaged.this happens in both auto and manual.
Can anyone help?

have you gotten the codes read? i would start there also how many miles are on the clutch?

no i havent got them read. sorry what does getting the codes read do?
the clutch is the original and has done 93000.

do you know if i will need the obd I or II to read the 3.2 evo?

It should be OBD II (obd2)

93K it might just be the cluch beginning to slip and confusing the SMG ecm
