I also own an E38.
1. Replacing hood emblem: remember to get both the emblem and the grommets. Take off the old emblem by gently prying it up with a flathead screwdriver, with the end of the screwdriver wrapped in cloth so you don't scratch the paint. Put the grommets on the emblem before you put the whole thing into the holes on the hood. Clean the area after taking off the old emblem and before putting on the new one.
2. I can't exactly recall where the cabin air filters are, but aren't they under the hood at the air intake points on either side of the engine bay towards the passenger cabin?
3. You need to replace the rear drink holders. Yes, they will break again. No, there is no permanent fix.
4. Take it to a professional glazer? I don't know how to do this, and messing with glass is tricky stuff.
