Checking-In Y2k 740i Spt Pk, a few ?'s I've been researching for almost 2 years, and having spent 1998-2001 in Germany, I knew that I wanted a piece of the ultimate driving machine. I found a decent deal on one at a used car dealer locally, and we worked out a price that was comparable with those on Ebay, Cars and Autotrader. Now by no means is this car in Excellent condition, but it drives, runs and handles super. So, I'm left with the cosmetics and small flaws to fix, so that I can drive what was an almost $90k car for aprox 10% of cost. I live in the Little Rock area, and am happy to hear from ya'll on any do's and dont's on the E-38 body style.
My fist projects on this 740i (parts already ordered from RM and Bavauto) include, Glove box latch (how do I open it without breaking), cup holder replacement, top hood grill fasteners, steering wheel top rubber boot is loose, Xeon headlight bulb is loose on passenger side (looks like the plastic mount for the bulb broke loose), replaceing the cabin air filters (where are these located?), replcaing the hood emblem (any suggestions), cannot open the rear drink holders (any tricks?), and lastly I need to replace the rubber weather strip on the top of the windshield (ordered the part, but any words of wisdom would be nice).
Thanks in advance for any Bavarian wisdom that may be shared.
