Brand new to BMWs

Hello, all.

I just bought a 1992 BMW 318ic, having never owned a BMW before. I have a bit of fixing to do on it - it's going to be a project, but the base is solid. I bought it from someone who did some very nice upgrades to it, and is selling it because of his military duties. Anyhow, I have a bit of fixing - mostly cosmetic - to get it exactly right, but not much. I love it, though. It drives like a champ and looks hot!

Anyhow, I'm joining this forum with hopes of learning more about my car, and some of the things I'll have to do with it.

Thanks! I did a bit of working on cars before, but mostly out of necessity rather than for the enjoyment of fixing up a nice, fun car. My boyfriend and I thought that working on this, getting into forums and learning, would be a great way for me to learn to be a better mechanic. I love this body style and look, too - this is the kind of car that I expect in 10 or so years will be considered a classic.

hmmm, i'm a little confused. someone help me here.

from what i've learned recently the e30 was built from 81-91, and the e36 from 91-99.

the picture of pandora's 92 318 is clearly an e30. what gives?

nice car by the way. i agree that these are the future classics.

The convertible version of the E30 3 series was carried over to '92 because the E36 version was not then ready.
