brake pad wear reset

Hallo all,
I own a BMW 320i E46 of 2001.
Normally I do the maintenance myself, so when the brake light came on I changed the front pads. I checked the rear ones but they were still OK.
But .... how to get the dashboard-light off took me quite some time to figure out. So may-be this is of help to others.
When the light on the dashboard has been on (triggered) you MUST replace the brake wear indicator cable because a small electronic element disappeared after touching the brake disc. (I assume it is a little smd capacitor.)
It is an easy job. Just open the small box behind the shock absorber and take the plug out. It can be done after you installed the brake pads.
Replace the cable and after switching the power on wait for 30 seconds for the light to go out. (therefor I think it is a small capacitor.)

There are two BWI cables. one left front wheel and one right rear wheel.
both with a different length.

I finally found the answer on the site of Pelican parts.

Hope this is of help.
