bmw 325i

Hi,

I have a 2001 bmw 325i with 100K miles. Just had the a/c and heater replaced for $500.00.

Now I am getting notices to service my car. The test that was done showed something about the camshaft and others about the 02 sensor? Another PO300 had to do with the sparkplugs/and missfire? The test also revealed P13345, P13343, P13347, PO171 and PO174.

My car has not been starting in the heat. Then when it starts it goes to a crawl of 20 mph. Then the next day it will be fine.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me? I trust my mechanic. But he has been away on vacation. The mechanic I saw did the test that showed about 6 numbers. Could it be that it needs cooling agent or something minor? I understand the sensors are an issue. You have to fix them as you go along or can one sensor that is off, make the others off also?

Welcome, I hope you get all you issues fixed. As for O2 that's a simple fix, you can get the part from a place like Autozone and replace it your self, the rest you will need to ask a more experienced person than myself.

Were there any issues prior to the work being done? Why was the original work performed?

There may have been an electrical connector or two loosened or not properly replaced when the work was done. Get the group that did the heating and cooling work to review the wiring and connectors that they have been working with directly or nearby to see if anything obvious is amiss. Failig that, try disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes and then start the car up to see if there is any change to the issues.

change the o2 sensor. this can straighten a few things sometimes on other vehicles. why not BMW? maybe ill hear why not next.
can anybody tell me what the i stands for? *325i*

I appreciate your help. Do you know what you can do if your cigarette lighter doesn't work and you have a GPS? Are there any other connections in the bmw 325xi that I can use instead?

Thank you! Now I need to know how to replace my cigarette lighter that has never worked in order to use my GPS unless anyone has knowledge of another way. This is a great, helpful website. Thank you all!

Think you might need rip the console out and check the wiring at the cig-lighter... Mine failed a while back and it was a broken connection ! Also test for continuation at that positive wire... If your GPS is running from the same fuse as the lighter then the issue will be nearer the fuse-box than anywhere else... Just an idea mate !
