| Bmw 325i Howdy ya'll,
I'm in a bit of an internal battle with myself trying to decide if I should go for what seems to be a very excellent deal on a very nice old bmw.
Here's the scoop;
It's a 93' with 210k (there's my snag). It has been owned by an older gentleman for 11 years and has pretty much nothing but highway miles (travelling at 55mph mostly). This gentleman has done a lot of work by himself, and what he hasn't felt comfortable with he has had a BMW dealer do the work. 10k ago he replaced the brakes, struts, clutch, water pump and some other smaller parts. He also mentioned a typical oil leak and had that fixed as well as any others. The engine looks clean, no wet spots from oil leaks, no rust, clean interior, and M3 seats to boot.
Seems beautiful, the ac compressor just went on him. Ac isn't a big deal, but can a car that's been so well maintained start to deteriorate around 210k? Seems solid, drives well, very responsive, can't see why I shouldn't go for it. I've always worked on my own cars, but they've all been smaller. Any thoughts or knowledge on how long a BMW like this can run?
Any input ya'll have is great...thanks! |
