Hi guys, am new at this and need some help.
I have this 320d and it lacks power in the low
rpms, turbo whistle nicely but only kicks in at
about 3000rpms, this is very frustrating and the dealership
only interested in a arm and a leg. The cat performs
well when in turbo range and does not battle to start.
Both the cats has been gutted! Please help
johan.
Now, diesel's are notorious for not having much power at lower RPM's, especially turbo diedels, due to the fact that boost is not acheived unti lthe turbo reaches a certain pressure. The only way to get more power is usually by swapping fuel rails, injectors, and larger turbo's into the platform.
best of luck
Thanks for the speedy reply, I do understand
that diesels does not have a lot of power at low rpms
but this scenario is different, it's suppose to kick in at
at around 200 rpms and does not, feels like
it suffers from fuel starvation. The car is dead
and kicks in in 1st gear at 3000 rpm, not
even suppose to push it that hard , but gets
progressively better as you go in the gears.
Please help or advise!
Thank whieshark, I will let you guys know,
will have to take it to the dealership.
