Battery Problems

Have a 2 1/2 year old 325 M Sport auto 4 door saloon - only done 13,500 miles - should I really expect battery to fail to keep charge? problem most prevalent in colder conditions.

When this occurs the car shuts down certain features (i.e. radio / heated rear windcreen)

Any advices would be appreciated

Thanks,

I'd have the electrical system checked for a bad relay. My friend's mom's older Cadillac Catera (which is an Opel) had this problem and it turned out that the heated rear windscreen was the cause staying on even with the key off. It was a bad relay.
