| "97" 540i - Front-end shimmy
Hopefully someone can provide some guidance with this one. After driving a distance greater than 30 KM on the highway my front-end begins to shimmy really bad. The first time I though one of my front wheels had come loose. Fortunatly this was not the case. It's realy noticable at around 80km per hour. You can really feel the steering wheel kick left and right, just last week the problem had excallated into a squeaking noise. Similar to the brake indicator on rotors (brakes are fine). After I reached my destination, the car sat for about an hour after which time I drove back. The problem went away, once again. Any ideas as to what's happening? |
