Exclamation M5 Wagon???

Ok, I don't know much about m-series cars at all. Today I stumbled across an ad for a 1992 M5 Wagon. 72,000 mi., Auto, Bad Trans, Salvage title.

Asking $2,000.

First off, is this real? Did they make M5 Wagons?

Second, if it's real, how rare are these?

Third, If it's just the bad tranny, is it worth it to buy this? (I'd convert to 5-spd)

Thanks in advance, Joe

The E34 M5 Touring is one of the rarest of the glorious M5 models. Only 891 cars were made from 1992 to 1995. The M5 Touring was produced for the German market, and no RHD models were made. A few models have made it to the USA. The E34 M5 Touring has the 340 hp 3.8-liter inline 6-cylinder twin-cam S38 engine 6 speed gartrag 280 gearbox. The M5 Touring is only 70 kg heavier than the M5. The M5 Touring has a split opening tailgate, and the rear seats can be folded down.

auto m5??? did they even have those? let alone in wagons?

i'm sure it's actually a norml 5-series wagon
that's why price is 2,000
otherwise it'd be 10,000 +

The auto tranny made me wonder as well. I am waiting on the VIN right now. But visually it all checks out (wheels, front/rear clip, badging etc.)
