My friend owns a dealer and he has a 2001 M5 with 77k, thinking to buy it from him. He bought the car for $26500.00 and thats what i am buying for, i just have couple question, is there a rear cup holder? i cant find it.
Yes. there's some really bad ones near the cig lighter. You press in and they click out. There's 2 more for the rear seats in the center console.
They are all very fragile and don't actually hold a cup. They especially don't hold a cup of liquid at the excelleration rates in an M5.
I'd highly recommend buying one of those center popout ones. They are pricey but they work really well and they are classy looking enough for an M5. I'll see if I can find a web link to them and I'll post the link later.
there is no cup holder at the center consle and neither buy the cig light. just really confused for a car like this has no cup holders at the back.
Also, its the any big problem with the 01 M5? I know the price i am getting is really good, but i dont want to get a car that i have to fix it every month.
Thx
Looks like they have been removed, based on the first picture (058.jpg).
The rectangular opening just below the vents is meant for the cup holders. You can purchase it from bavauto. I posted a picture on my previous post
Beautifull car. I really like the the two tone blue leather. It's very rare.

the front ones look like they are already sticking out. They are just broken.
Can replace them..... not really worth it tho. The replacement ones will break just like the original ones. Other option is to just glue them shut and buy the cup holder I linked. Or you can replace them and never use them so they won't break! If you do use the cup holders they are guarenteed not to hold your drink the moment the you do any of the following:
touch the gas pedal
touch the break pedal
touch the steering wheel
:-)
That said I love my M5 and I certainly didn't buy it for a useful cup holder. However my wife does hold my drink but she's never happy about it.
