| all M cars start with WBS, e30's/e28's included. the only exception is the e24 M6, which had WBA.
WBS is the designation for the the munich motorsport plant where they only make M vehicles since the original M1.
even US built e36/7 Z3 M Roadsters/coupes had WBS even though they were built in the US plant designation "4US"
